Public Utilities Specialist

Leads the development and documentation of methods, processes and procedures to improve the efficiency, the accuracy and the effectiveness of the CAISO settlement operations in meeting established goals and objectives.
Leads the development and documentation of new or modified program regulations and business requirements for the CAISO or BANC settlements and power billing applications in meeting future market developments and initiatives.
Oversees or performs validation and allocation of CAISO settlement statements and bilateral power transactions from SNR's Scheduling Coordinators (SC) to SNR customer accounts.
Oversees or performs maintenance, testing and deployment of new or updated business processes, procedures, or automated systems for settlements, power billing to support CAISO, BANC or SNR SBA settlements and power billing.
Formulates strategies in coordination with staff from other organizations and divisions such as Resources, Scheduling, Real-Time Merchant, Finance, Power Operations, IT support, and Software Vendors to secure and process data required for preparation of CAISO settlements, BANC settlements, and power billing.

Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
experience with settlement and power billing business processes in the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) market.
Your experience should reflect development, implementation, testing and deployment of new or enhanced settlements and power billing processes and systems to meet the business needs in a changing business environment.

Expert technical knowledge of CAISO protocols and tariffs, as they relate to settlement charges in the CAISO markets and the EIM, in-depth understanding of CAISO market services, and proficiency in the use of relevant software packages.
Ability to analyze, interpret and evaluate complex financial and accounting data such as CAISO settlements, power billing and meter data in order to solve accounting problems and provide information to internal and external customers.
Ability to review, analyze and evaluate automated and/or manual power settlements and power billing systems.
Ability to gather data; analyze complex problems and computer software; develop, support, and defend conclusions; devise solutions and/or alternative treatments to problems; and implement management decisions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
