-Receives all types of correspondence, reports, and memorandums pertaining to such subjects as engineering, science, law, economics, water rights, appropriations, construction, land classification, power developments and sales, accounting, procurement, administration, and other subjects pertaining to Reclamation records. -Retrieves documents per telephone, electronic mail, and personal requests. -Interprets Reclamation instructions, directives, regulations, computer manuals, Department manuals, general records schedules, disposition schedules, and other regulatory material governing records management in the performance of duties. -Reviews semi-active and permanent records in the centralized and decentralized files. -Periodically inventories records to assure compliance with policies and procedures in governing disposition actions. -Processes the official file copies of all outgoing mail. -Handles all types of mail, to include USPS, UPS, Fed Ex ground and freight. -Reads and routes incoming correspondence, facsimiles, drawings, etc., to various segments of the organization. -Responsible for ordering office supplies as required and as needed for the mail and file room. For GS-05:
One year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-04 level in the Federal service OR four years of academic study above the high school level OR a combination of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet the one-year specialized experience requirement.Foreign Education:
To receive credit for education completed outside the United States, applicants must show proof that the education has been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs.Definition of Specialized

GS-05:
Experience working within a mailroom environment performing mail and file clerk duties such as classifying, assembling, or sorting; determining proper numbers to be assigned and selecting relevant items from materials for cross-referencing and indexing. Conducting searches for reference materials or research to find information related to specific programs or definite violations, considering all possible avenues of approach or reasons why information may not be in files. Routing records or files; serving as an initial point of contact or assisting on clerical personnel matters and serving as a back-up on activities related to timekeeping; experience performing office automation work. Using office automation equipment and/or software (e.g., applications word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.) to produce a wide variety of narrative, tabular and/or other materials (e.g., small copying, duplication jobs, correspondence, reports, graphics, calendars, charts, statistical tables and other various forms or documents); experience working as a receptionist or backup to the receptionist answering telephone calls and visitors. These examples are not all inclusive. Experience that would not normally be part of an applicant's position may be creditable when documented by satisfactory evidence (e.g., a memorandum from the manager or human resources director, SF-52, or similar documentation). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
