Supervisory Electrical Engineer

Supervises the development and analysis of transmission planning and operations horizon and real time transmission, sub-transmission and generation studies to evaluate the impacts of on various system for operational changes on power operation and reliability. Responsible for input, review and analysis of North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC)/Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) standards to ensure compliance for operations and transmission planning standards assigned to the Engineering group. Provides necessary input data for use in transmission/generation additions planning, operational, engineering, and environmental impact studies. Conducts highly specialized and technical transmission studies to assure reliable operation of the interconnected system; recommends transmission additions and/or upgrades. Coordinates with other agencies such as U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the regional reliability transmission organizations to analyze and assess various operating scenarios and identify the reliability impacts of the interconnected power systems operation. Performs the full spectrum of personnel management duties including assigning and reviewing the work, giving advice, counsel and instruction to employees, setting standards of performance and evaluating employees, taking needed disciplinary actions, arranging for training of employees, interviewing and selecting candidates for position vacancies, recommending other personnel actions, hearing and resolving complaints, and finding ways to improve product quality and promoting teamwork. Professional knowledge of and skill in applying, a wide range of Electronic Engineering theories, concepts, principles, standards, and methods, as follows, for a wide range of power system equipment used in the electric utility industry. Knowledge of NERC/WECC standards compliance for operations and transmission planning standards. Expertise in various studies and tools used by subordinates, with the ability to recommend the necessary equipment modifications and/or additions necessary to maintain system reliability under varying load/generation conditions. Extensive knowledge of transmission planning and operating studies and analysis, such as, power flow studies, transient stability studies, and fault study models. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of key management officials in Federal, State, and local governments; utilities at the executive. Skill in supervising a diverse staff to include assigning work, providing guidance, evaluating results, and promoting team cohesion and effectiveness. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
