Administrative Support Assistant (Office Automation), GS-0303-05 (MPP)(FR)

Performs a variety of office administrative support functions for the Central California Area Office, Folsom, CA.-Provides human resources support for all Area Office employees. Prepares and tracks Requests for Personnel Actions in FPPS and notifies supervisors of pending actions.-Serves as Area Office Training Coordinator. Receives verbal and handwritten requests for internal and external training.-Assists in greeting CCAO visitors and contractors; answers multiple phone lines; and forwards calls and visitors to appropriate personnel.-Processes all outgoing mail, conforming all signed correspondence for mailing, distributing copies to assigned offices, assuring enclosures are attached to required copies.-Prepares travel orders and vouchers for Area Office personnel.-Uses a personal computer with applications for normal business functions such as word processing, spreadsheets, time and attendance, filing, scheduling, databases, email and other related programs in support of administrative processes. Selective Placement Factor:
This position requires a qualified typist. Applicants must be able to type 40 words per minute. Certification may be a certificate of proficiency dated within the past 3 years or self-certification by stating current speed on your application for employment/resume.Applicants must have one year of specialized experience or additional education as defined below:
GS-05:
One year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-04 level in the Federal Service. Applicants also qualify with 4 years of academic study above high school; OR, a combination of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet the 1-year specialized experience requirement.Education substitution:
Only education in EXCESS of the first 60 semester hours can be credited toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One year of academic study beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial or technical school. The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. If using education to qualify, you must submit a COPY of your college transcripts. Foreign Education:
To receive credit for education completed outside the United States, applicants must show proof that the education has been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs. GS-05:
General office management or secretarial experience that included responsibility for coordinating a variety of administrative support services such as preparing correspondence and reports, mail and filing, travel, time and attendance, inputting to and/or maintaining databases which support the administrative activities of an office. These examples are not all inclusive. Experience that would not normally be part of an applicant's position may be creditable when documented by satisfactory evidence (e.g., a memorandum from the manager or human resources director, SF-52, or similar documentation). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
